Months of planning, came to fruition last Sunday with our spectacular Charity Family Fun Day, celebrating the Jubilee in Spain, with traditional sideshows, stalls, entertainment, food and revelry. Over 1000 expats and locals joined in the fun, under the sun. Temperatures soared into the high 30’s, but party on we all did. Children, enjoyed many activities, sports races, pony rides, crafts and more, adults dug deep in their pockets, partaking in the raffles, tombolas, the bar 😉 and yummy foods on offer.
I made hundreds of home-made burgers for a La Rosilla ‘Full Monty’ burger which sold out in a few hours, we made 4 giant paellas too, which went down fabulously.
A great day had by all, much many raised for local charities, and a promise of an annual event, after I’ve recovered 😉 !
You can watch a lovely video catching the true spirit of our day here, made by chief organiser and good friend Lisa from
While I’d been planning with my friends this event, My Mum & Dad back in Blighty were too pulling out all the stops for the jubilee celebrations, fortunately their event was indoors, so they didn’t have to brave the weathers like most including her Majesty 😉
My good old Mum served 200+ teas to local senior citizens, decorated their house, and came 2nd in the local art competition.
Getting into the spirit of things, allows us all to focus on the good, take time to think of something different, but most of all share celebrations with family, friends where ever we are in the world 🙂
